Mission

CRJ is a restorative justice solution that strengthens the lives of juvenile offenders, their victims, and their communities by promoting direct accountability and responsibility.

Currently CRJ implements two programs: Victim Offender Dialog (VOD) and our Shoplifting Prevention Program for juvenile offenders and their victims.

Goals

  • Support the healing process of victims by providing them a safe and structured environment where they can voluntarily meet with the juvenile offender.

  • Allow juvenile offenders to hear from victims the human consequences of their actions and behaviors.

  • Provide an opportunity for victims and offenders to develop mutually acceptable Accountability Agreements tailored to the offender's responsibility to repair, to the best degree possible, the harm created by the offender's actions.

  • Provide opportunities that allow youth to develop the life skills and competencies in an attempt to meet their basic personal and social needs.

  • Provide opportunities for community members to come together to identify and solve social problems.
